It's amazing how NYT writes such horse manure for mullahs and gets away with it.
The Reform minded Middle Class of Iran that we know are busy chasing the banks that stole their monies.
Nowadays they could be found on practically any corner of any city in Iran. It's not an exaggeration to say there's not a day without a protest by people in front of a bank, asking for their stolen monies.
What do Juan Cole and NYT have in common when it comes to Iran?
They're both missing the best stories.

Most of what the TImes publishes on Iran should be taken with a grain of salt. This paper is part of the deceptive and intricate architecture employed to pave the path to war with Iran. Many Western journalists have written at length about how the regime and the people are not necessarily united on various issues, but also on the supposed unity between the people and the regime in the face of external threats. While it is predictable that the Iranian people might once again unite with the regime to stave off external threats, such unity could be a problem if that threat is direct war with the US and allies. If the enemy (i.e. the US and allies) wants to wipe out the regime, it might be better for the people if they are not seen to be stubbornly supporting it in the face of a much stronger opponent, because they are going to lose the war. If the general population is hostile to the invaders, the former will lose the war even harder.

"At the same time this American president is breaking our hearts with his rhetoric and threats. We have to choose sides. I choose for my country.”
A little more focus on actions rather than rhetoric, and a little less emotion, might be helpful.

If the US and allies come for Iran, their initial goal will be for the average conscripted Iranian soldier to be so preoccupied with the safety of their families that they could not put their hearts into fighting for a regime they themselves want ousted. That means bombing the hell out of civilian infrastructure and residential areas.

Another option which NYT & you both fail to ponder is that of Iranian people rising up against both external & internal reactionaries; fighting against foreign invaders & mullahs at the same time.
Such scenarios have occurred previously & they could take place again.

There is no way a new Iranian revolution could succeed without external help.

May I suggest, if you are patient enough, that help might be dropping to an Iranian city from 40,000 ft in the not too distant future.

What do thoroughly reactionary, Nihilist, Stone age Fatmeh Komandos know about any revolution, let alone our revolution?
Not a damn thing.
Also, you may not suggest anything, since Fatmeh Komandos entire raison d'être is nothing but working as a transmission belt for mullahs' filth and scum.
Your infantile, obtuse fearmongering is so worn out and over used it only serves a comic relief. Then again Fatmeh Kommandos have always been nothing but a stupid bunch of jokers.

Too late, I already made the suggestion. I wasn't asking for your permission.

Like I said before, you helped screw Iran in 1979, now it's your turn to help fix it. What are you going to do? Are you going to parade yourself in front of the Basij? This regime learnt from the Shah what happens when you go soft on an insurrection.

No one is buying a single word of Fatmeh Komandos degenerate rants.
Those filthy mullahs you love so much are the source of all our problems. No one has forgotten how you were pushing AN's agenda in here and now acting (rather clumsy and amateurly ) as if you weren't any part of that.
Stanford is much smaller that one might thinks.

It's ok, I really don't expect you to accept any responsibility for the downfall of Iran. Keep playing the victim if it makes you feel any better. It must be a huge burden to bear.

For those who can stomach the truth, they know that the communists involved in the revolution are as guilty as the mullahs. What would you have done to the mullahs if you had won? You would have killed them, just like they killed communists. In fact, aside from religion, there is almost no difference between the communists and the mullahs.

AN supporters who used to show up here as NP, Darya,...and are now hiding behind a 'nationalist' cover are one of the biggest reason for backwardness in Iran. Everyone here know who they are.
Erstwhile AN supporters now acting like 'know nothing' fools are the same as SAVAK agents, there's no difference between them.

Their sick repressed desires, which has destroyed us for the past 38 years.
Fatmeh Kommandos also share the same depraved, repressed Nihilist mentality.
A look in the mirror could help with identifying the subject if this matter.

Fatmeh Komodos talking about "class" is akin to a jack ass farting and consider it music.
Only this morning you were displaying for all your internalized male-domination, talking about how women have it 'easy.'
Fatmeh Kommandos are in no position to say squat about squat.
All they could do is to seek some psychiatric help, since they're in deep need of it.
Then again that banana peel might intervene before psychiatry.
Who know.

The only people who need urgent psychiatric help are the communists who thought they actually had a chance of winning in Iran at the height of the Cold War. It was utter madness; only a pack of over-confident, underexperienced school children could fall into such a delusion, which is exactly what happened. Meanwhile, those mullahs alongside whom you were happy to fight to bring down the Shah, cooked and ate you for breakfast with the help of the CIA.

Fatmeh Komandos are the epitome of utter madness. Just think about all the flippant, crazy 'comments' you post in here. That's why all Hezbollahi thugs and Fatmeh Komandos are in need of serious psychiatric health.
Concerning delusions, just recall how you were supporting and justifying AN's murderous actions and policies, and now it's ANand his gang that are getting cooked and eaten. How does it feel?

Oh, BTW a friend of ours is writing a short story about a female erstwhile AN supporter, he was going to call it "Fatmeh Komando goes to Stanford," but he thought it wasn't classy enough.
Since you know so much about class, any suggestions?
And the story ends with a Banana peel.

Hard truth is that Fatmeh Komodos (like the Stanford residing ones ) and their justifications and apologizing for their fascist mullah masters, are one of the reasons we still have mullahs around.
Everyone remembers how you were acting is support of AN in 2009 and after. You're not fooling anyone (except yourself) in here.
