Unreal - they trimmed tenths off of a second from their yellow lights, system-wide, and made 8 million more in ticket revenue over 6 months. Local government profiteering from their citizens - business as usual in the US we're now living in.

At face it seems hard to believe tenths of a second could have such an impact. On second thought it is so common to go through a yellow, rather than stop, that it doesn't seem all that far fetched.

Yeah - they had an internal guideline that any amber(yellow) duration of less than 3 seconds was thrown out, due to vagaries in consistency of light control infrastructure. They bent that standard down to maximize profits - local government running like our corporations, without regard for benefit to the community around them.
