An alternate title for this article could have been:
"Why Iranians always love to blame foreigners, especially Americans, for their internal problems!"
The piece written by someone with such a outstanding background is truly disappointing in the way it forgets to mention a few 'minor points':
1- The protests are now nationwide and have moved from Mashhad (northeast) all the way to Ahvaz (southwest).
2- Not a single mention of nationwide protests against financial malfeasance is state sponsored banks and financial institutions.
3- Nationwide workers' protests, against unpaid wages, like Araak's Hepko company where workers battled with thousands of anti-riot troops.
4- Sepah's addiction to large scale money laundering and the problems posed by this for an orderly return to the world economy
This list could go one, but it's Sunday morning, and...
Unfortunately Prof. Cole is continuing his slide on things Iranian. Hopefully he'll get back his mojo, someday!
Power to the people.
