TopTopic Commenting Policy
TopTopic is an uplifting community, which is open and accepting to all individuals. Members are expected to treat one another with respect and dignity, regardless of personal beliefs. The following are the guidelines for posting comments in the TopTopic community. This is a living, breathing document that may be updated at anytime. We will provide notice of any updates.
What is a Comment?
A comment allows you to express your thoughts on a particular piece of content.
You can comment on a by clicking the post title, then scrolling down the page to the comments section. You can also respond to a comment left by another member in the same comments section.
Comments drive the discussion on TopTopic and often lead to thoughtful, passionate discussions. At times emotion and context are difficult to convey through simple text communication. Please give some benefit of the doubt before judging whether another member is being insulting or offensive. It is important to always remember that you are having discussions with other humans with feelings and emotions just like you. Sometimes we all have trouble communicating our points in a way that is easily understood.
At all times, be respectful and courteous. If you are certain a comment is in appropriate or in violation of the site or Topic guidelines, please the comment and provide a brief description why, so the moderator may take appropriate action.
TopTopic is a community. Our community and your community and we want everyone to enjoy themselves here. This doesn’t mean you can’t have spirited debates. In fact, we’re looking forward to participating in many of them. But let’s all communicate with one another as the thoughtful grownups we’ve come to be.

Content drives the community and covers a wide range of Topics here at, well, TopTopic. We encourage you to share content that inspires, uplifts or otherwise spurs thoughtful debate. Generally speaking, the more compelling the content, the greater the number of Tops it will receive. This translates into greater exposure and income opportunity.
Of course, there are some guidelines which need to be followed. Due to our desire to keep our community friendly and inviting to all, we require that certain types of content not be posted.
Submitting comments related to any of the below will result in being banned from the community the instant we are made aware.
Do not post sexually explicit, derogatory or potentially embarrassing content without the permission of the individual featured.
We are adamantly in favor of free speech. But we won’t hide behind it. Disallowing hate speech isn’t about silencing thought or opinion. This is about treating one another with respect and dignity. It’s about treating one another as human beings of equal value, which, by the way, we all are.
We will not tolerate racism, misogyny or any other discrimination of groups or individuals.
A vocal minority is ruining other communities for a thoughtful majority and we will not let that happen to TopTopic.
This includes posting of personal information, threat of harm, baseless accusations or name-calling.
Don’t spam the comments with links or unrelated dialogue.
When in doubt, don’t post it.
