There is also a long and fascinating association between Persian and Urdu. There is an entry on it in Wikipedia:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persian_and_Urdu

The name “Urdu” comes from Persian اردوگاه. According to the entry “It [Urdu] grew from the interaction of Persian and Turkic-speaking Mus ... Read more

I am sure there are those in NIAC, including yourself who deeply care about human rights in Iran. Many including myself see the human rights violation as the priority number one in fighting for justice, equality and basic universal rights for every Iranian. I hope when the threat of military invasi ... Read more

Another example of the U.S. government double standards in the Middle East. As long as money flows into their coffers they turn a blind eye to the most hideous acts.

"The rivalry dates to the time of the Safavid Empire, which swept out of Persia in the fifteen-hundreds and ruled much of the Arab world for two centuries."

The New Yorker got its history wrong. The Safavids were in loggerheads with the Ottomans and so was the Christian West. Much of the Arab speak ... Read more

This is what Ebadi said in regard to NIAC in that famous (or infamous) interview.
"When I analyzed what they [NIAC] say and do," Ebadi said, "I realize what they say is closer to what the government says than what the people want."

STOP PAYING LIP SERVICE to Human Rights Violations in Iran. ... Read more

America’s overthrow of other countries’ governments is over. In fact America’s heydays as a superpower is rapidly waning because they no longer have the moral authority in the eyes of the world to act as a force for good. The world's perception of U.S. has changed dramatically.

I doubt it if Ebad ... Read more

Before thinking of reform Khamenei should ask himself, how many Iranians want him to be their supreme leader? If he is sure of his position he should hold a referendum. How can he think about reform when he's got so much blood on his hands.

I mean NIAC. In the last 3 months alone many Iranians have been killed, tortured and imprisoned. They have nobody to speak on their behalf. Many countries are tiptoeing around IRI for their economic interests. I think we should separate humans rights violations from all other issues and it should c ... Read more

This is another article on Ebadi. She seems to have a very cool head as what to do and what not to do next.

It reads like a balanced article. For example in this excerpt "To start, she made it clear that she was not calling for a military invasion of Iran or any kind of U.S. interference with the movement itself. "The regime change in Iran should take place inside Iran and by the people of Iran," she said ... Read more

Anthem for Doomed Youth by Wilfred Owen

What passing-bells for those who die like cattle?
Only the monstrous anger of the guns.
Only the stuttering rifles' rapid rattle
Can patter out their hasty orisons.
No mockeries now for them; no prayers nor bells,
Nor any voice of mourning save ... Read more

Who are these Islamic people? They do not seem to be human beings. Burying a man without permission of his family after he died in their custody. It is terrifying to think they are not just in charge of the prisons but the entire country. Can life get any worse for Iranian people?

Great demonstration of solidarity ! I hope such a show of support one day takes place for the Iranian women who have been treated with no less cruelty in the hands of the Islamic Republic of Iran for a very long time and the perpetrators of these crimes ultimately brought to justice.
