This is a dumb idea. If they keep going, the US will rip them apart. The only question is, who will be first - Iran or Turkey?

If they want to tear Iran apart, it would make sense. Whether they are actually doing it at the moment is another matter, but there are indications options are being explored.

What makes a better deal depends who you ask. For the US, a better deal surely means Iran submitting to some or all of Pompeo's 12 demands, which would be a very bitter pill for the mullahs to swallow, so we'll see.

There's no point blaming Trump for this. The war against Iran has been raging for far longer than he has been a player. Even the JCPOA itself was just another act of warfare, a project of people who actually wanted war with Iran, not peace.

I think the mullahs were put in a difficult position, because if they refused to negotiate, the tide of global opinion might have turned (further) against them - it would have been construed as proof that Iran wanted nuclear weapons. I also believe the US never wanted a genuine act of diplomacy, and ... Read more

Surely the Americans must know the MEK is not supported by the Iranian people, but they just don't care. They obviously think it won't matter. I think the US has written off the Iranian people as a whole. If they just want to scare the mullahs by wheeling out Maryam Rajavi occasionally, it won';t ma ... Read more

Western support for the MEK is what happens when the mullahs do what they do. Mullahs gonna mullah, Yanks gonna Yank. On the one hand, the mullahs complain that they are not an accepted and respected member of the world community, yet on the other hand they stick their fingers up at that community. ... Read more

For Iran, blocking the Strait of Hormuz is almost like Russia launching a strategic nuke at America, or vice versa, i.e. it could be the end of the world.

OK, so the mullahs block the Strait. Then what? It's not hard to guess, is it? Do you think the US will just give up and allow the waterway to r ... Read more

Btw check the global market share of iPhone... it's below 20%, so Turkey is no different to the global trend. Which makes me wonder, what is the point of targeting a minor market player, especially when the main competition is still intimately tied to the US via its OS? Yeah Erdogan, you're still an ...
