What's a problem is people putting the interests of foreigners ahead of national interests out of some misguided moral pretensions. Nothing is wrong with a "nation first" approach to issues. The Germans want to keep Iran a dumping ground for Afghan refugees in order to decrease the pressure on Germany, given the refugee crisis in Europe.
